Nyxondra's Broodling are a great source of Thick Leather. There are tons of the broodlings confined to a small area and the re-spawn rate is high. By the time you farm from one end to the other, the side you started from has re-spawned.
In a one hour farm I bagged 10 stack's of Thick Leather, 2 stack's of Rugged Leather, 6 Thick Hide and 5 Green magic items. This should yield close to 250 wow gold on my server.
In comparison, I tried the beach area at Tanaris. The turtles there are fine but too far apart. I tried the island which is covered with turtles at the mouth of the Thousand Needles canyon. More than half the time these give turtle shell or heavy leather.
ReplyDeleteThe Badlands are considerably better, usually giving thick leather and sometimes rugged leather. I also worked for about an hour and got:
8 Thick Hide
30 Rugged Leather
76 Thick Leather
So, my take was about half. For my level 46 Hunter, there isn't really any difference in farming the dragon whelplings or the area south which has wolves and leopards. All of these yield thick and rugged leather. However, with a higher level character who has a good area attack then the closer spacing of the whelplings would be faster.
