One of the easiest ways to make wow gold and wow xp at the same time is to learn the mining profession. If you download the add-ons Gathermate2 and Gathermate2_Data from Curse.com you will be able to see all the possible ore nodes as they are layed out on all the wow zone maps.
The image above shows the nodes in the main map and the mini map. when you get close enough to the node it will turn into a red circle and if there is ore you will see a solid gold circle.
If you would like to optimize your gold yield form your Auction House sales I recommend you sell half the ore you min as ore and the other half as bar. I call this the 50/50 selling method
